Five Questions with Andrew Sean Greer

Recently we had author Andrew Sean Greer pop into the shop to sign some books and have a chat. Andrew was breezing through as part of his Australian tour — while we gushed over his book Less we found him to be both humble and gracious.

What are you reading right now?

The Shadow King by Maaza Mengiste — in 1935 the Italians invaded Ethiopia. This is a story about the women and their vital role in the war against fascism.

What book would you take with you to a desert island?

In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust. It’s inspiring and confounding — it’s a relationship.

Which book do you wish you had written?

Little, Big by John Crowley.

If Less were made into a movie, who do you see playing Arthur?

Daniel Craig or Ewan McGregor.

Are you working on anything new that you can tell us about?

I am working on something new but I can’t tell you about it! It’ll be a comic novel. I tell people it’s an American road trip but it’s actually not!
