Born in the remote mining town of Queenstown, Tasmania, on June 23, 1961, Fagan’s path to becoming a premiership-winning coach is a story of relentless self-improvement, strategic acumen, and an unshakeable belief in building relationships. His career, spanning over four decades, has seen him evolve from a prolific Tasmanian player to a pivotal assistant coach in multiple premierships, and finally to the architect of the Brisbane Lions’ resurgence.

Fagan’s influence extends beyond wins and losses; he is revered for his empathetic coaching style, fostering player development, and turning struggling teams into contenders, all while navigating personal and professional challenges with grace.
