You are invited to a very special afternoon on Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island) with visual artists Andrea Dezsö and Delvene Cockatoo Collins. This is a unique opportunity to meet an internationally renowned artist and book illustrator.

On Saturday 3rd May from 4pm - 5.30pm, there will be a Meet The Artist panel with Andrea Dezsö and Delvene Cockatoo Collins, moderated by Suzy Wilson. Tickets are $10.

The evening panel event will be held at the North Stradbroke Island Museum on Minjerribah.

The venue is within walking distance from the ferries, and there is a lovely wine bar, St. Stradbroke, nearby for a glass of wine and bites afterwards.

About the Artists...

Andrea Dezsö Andrea Dezsö is a visual artist and award-winning illustrator who works across a broad range of media: drawing, painting, artist's books, cut paper, embroidery, animation, installation, and large scale public art. Her work has been reviewed in ArtForum, ArtNews, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, PBS, and New York magazine. Dezsö's permanent public art has been installed in two NYC subway stations, at CUNY Fiterman Hall in Lower Manhattan and at the US Embassy in Bucharest, Romania. Community Garden, Dezsö's large-scale public mosaic installed in the New York City subway, was awarded Best American Public Art in 2007.
Dezsö exhibits in museums and galleries around the world, and teaches widely.

Delvene Cockatoo-Collins is a First Nations artist and designer, who lives and works on Quandamooka country.Delvene’s work is far more than just marks on a page. It embodies a rich connection to country, capturing the Quandamooka soul. Her pieces share the stories, culture, heritage and techniques of thousands of years, passed down from generation to generation by her mother Evelyn and her grandmother Bethel.
